Qualifications and work experience:

  • Superintendent of cruise-vessels.
  • Qualified Chief Engineer Officer on all kinds of ships with NO LIMITATIONS for oil tankers, gas carriers, chemical carriers, container carriers and cruise-vessels, according regulation V/I (2) of the International Convention of Standards for Seafarers, 1978.
  • Supervising the construction of new container vessels at the Hyundai Shipyard (Korea) on behalf of Nedlloyd Lines (mv Nedlloyd Clarence and mv Nedlloyd Clement). Chief Engineer on these vessels, sailing with skeleton crew.
  • Marine Engineer on various kinds of ships, with turbine and diesel engines.

Activities at Bureau Veritas and main reference projects:

  • Senior Marine Surveyor.
  • Owners’ Representative for the Ministry of Works of Morocco, supervising construction of new trailing hopper for port dredging (m/v "Almas Bahia") at IHC-Yard Sliedrecht.
  • Supervising of modification to Albias gas yard.
  • Supervising of modification of gas carrier "INGER MAERSK" into FGSO-N’KOSSA II, storage LPG tanker for the N’Kossa fields in Congo, Point Noir, on behalf of Maersk and Bureau Veritas, at Lindo (Denmark).
  • Preliminary "Gas Trials" aboard liquefied gas carriers.
  • Inspection of construction of new vessels.
  • Inspection of all kinds of ships in service for class and flag state authorities (statutory bodies). Inspection and testing of materials, boilers, inert gas plants and various industrial equipment in accordance with BV and flag state rules, Solas, marpol and international standards.
  • HCAP surveys carried out for gas carriers.
  • Auditor on behalf of Head 0ffice BV-Paris, northern hemisphere, Norway to St.Petersburg and across to Taiwan, conducting vertical audits on suspected vessels.

Complementary training:

Diploma C-Level Marine Engineering. Ship automation, hydraulics and pneumatics: C-level at SBC-Zwijndrecht.

Operational safety of gas and chemical tankers, laboratory of Dr. Verweij, Rotterdam.

Course: Knowledge of Materials relating to radiographic examination of welding and assessment of radiographics, NDO examination level II and practice SNT-TC-1A, Material Metingen Testgroep BV at Ridderkerk.

Course: Knowledge of Naval Architecture and Ship Construction.

Marine Surveyor Certificate and specific training/examination at Bureau Veritas.

Fire Fighting Certificate followed a course of theoretical and practical training in the following subjects:

  • fire fighting and protective measures (incl. respiratory protection);
  • knowledge of safety procedures and the use of appropriate equipment.
